Diagnosis Ventriculoperitoneal shunt (VP shunt) – normal finding|
Evaluation of a VP shunt is performed by taking a frontal, lateral skull and frontal chest and abdominal radiographs to evaluate the tubing from its ventricular origin to its termination in the abdomen. A lateral radiograph of the abdomen can also be performed for confirmation of position. The course of the tubing should be continuous and without a kink. White arrows indicate the course of the left VP shunt and black arrows indicate the tip of both VP shunts.
