Chapter: Neuro

Subchapter: Head (Read entire chapter)

Diagnosis: Mandibular dislocation
Mandibular views with mouth open (right) and attempt to close mouth (left) show that the right mandibular condyle (white asterisk) is displaced anteriorly in respect to its mandibular fossa (black asterisk) in the temporal bone. The articular eminence (white arrow) prevents the relocation of the mandibular condyle into the mandibular fossa. It is Important to search for potential associated fractures! (not in this case)
